PINE’ PLATEAU

The heart of the JWOC and 5 DAYS OF ITALY 2025 is located in Baselga di Pinè, a small town recognized for its placid lakes nestled in the woods, breathtaking views of the Brenta chain, but also sanctuaries, biotopes, and excellent sports facilities.

Baselga is the main centre of the Piné Plateau. That is remembered for the beauty of its picturesque lakes, ideal for summer walks and sunbathing; for the possibility of discovering local history, culture and spirituality, through itineraries that touch ancient villages, churches and sanctuaries.

The Plateau is perfect for relaxing walks along the lakes and admiring the awakening of nature. A wide variety of plants, flowers and wild herbs are the realm of bees; while lakes, streams, forests and meadows are home to aquatic animals, birds, and domesticated animals such as sheep and goats that feed themselves while waiting to ascend to the high pastures. There is no shortage of horses, with which it is easy to ride and explore the plateau in wide, exciting strides.

Summer bursts with life and proposals, with its countless events, sports and cultural activities and the freshness of its Alpine lakes, which for years have boasted countless Blue Flag beaches, an international eco-label awarded for water quality and the promotion of lake enhancement activities.

For the more sporty, there is a wide choice: ice skating, archery, horse riding, mountain biking, but also trekking to the peaks of the Lagorai chain, to the famous Cascata del Lupo waterfall or walks among the alpine pastures.

Summer season is also the perfect time to visit the countless cultural sites: the Sanctuary of Montagnaga is the main Marian shrine in Trentino and presides over the territory together with votive capitals and fractional churches that preserve precious altars and frescoes; climbing up in altitude, reaching the Redebus pass we find the Acqua Fredda archaeological area, testimony to the primitive activity of metalworking; surrounded by fields in the locality of Prada, the Moser Mill, the ancient mill of medieval origin, recently renovated, which produces Pineta flour, has resumed grinding.

The transition from field to plate is quick and recommended: in the plateau’s restaurants it is possible to taste traditional cuisine and Zero-km products that reveal the strong and genuine flavours of the mountains.

VAL di CEMBRA

The sprint competition on Sunday 29th June, both of the JWOC and the 5 DAYS OF ITALY, will take place in Cembra, the characteristic village that gives its name to the whole valley

A UNIQUE VALLEY – Val di Cembra is a valley in Trentino characterized by a complex system of dry stone terraces and a great quality of wines, such as Müller Thurgau and Trentodoc, which can be tasted in the local cellars. In Val di Cembra you can find natural masterpieces unique in Trentino. With easy walks you can reach the Roccolo del Sauch, a construction of beech and fir trees, Lake Santo a small but enchanting pool located at 4 km from the village of Cembra, at an altitude of 1,200 metres, the Earth Pyramids of Segonzano a natural marvel consisting of high columns of morainic accumulations dating back to the last glaciation topped by porphyry stones, and the Castle of Segonzano, well-known for the celebrated water colours that Albrecht Dürer painted in 1494 on his first trip to Italy

SPORT & OUTDOOR – The lush nature of Val di Cembra invites you to try new sports, new movements and new motivations. You can practice a lot of sports here, from trekking along historical paths to cycling or mountain cycling, from fishing in the Avisio stream to curling practiced and loved by all the inhabitants of Cembra. Moments of sport and relaxation to explore the territory and enjoy nature.

TASTE & CULTURE – In the restaurants of Val di Cembra, you can taste the real flavors of this place. The wine and gastronomy of Val di Cembra feature genuine flavours which respect the mountain traditions. Real temptations that are difficult to resist: from the wines to the grappas, from the cheeses to the chestnuts, from the honey to the forest fruits, without forgetting the mushrooms of our woods.

VITICULTURE IN VAL DI CEMBRAThe history of the vine in Trentino has sunk its roots in Val di Cembra. A viticulture of mountain, defined “bold” for the difficulties of the cultivation of the wine, due to the particular morphology of the territory and practiced on over 700 kilometers of dry stone walls that go up to 870 mt above sea level. It is a unique landscape for its pedoclimatic characteristics (its south-east exposure, the strong thermal excursion and the porphyry terroir) and for its rich biodiversity, that can guarantee the production of excellent wines – from the steely white wines, that are also used to produce refined spumanti (Italian sparkling wines), to fruity red wines. You can taste the famous wines such as Muller Thurgau, Chardonnay, Schiava in one of the many cellars in the valley.

GRAPPA AND DISTILLERIES – Val di Cembra is considered to be the home of Trentino Grappa, an exclusively Italian distillate that comes from the distillation of grape skins. Distillation of the grape marc was often the only guaranteed source of income and survival for families living in a very harsh, impoverished economic climate, so much so that “lambicàr” in Trentino dialect means both distilling and living a hard laborious life. Grappa was not just drunk, it was also used for medicinal purposes: as an aid to digestion, a tonic, a disinfectant and for poultices, rubs and as a mouthwash against any kind of pain.
